The increase in energy demand risks slowing down the transition to a low-emissions economy. What is there to be done?

Renewable energy will become the largest source of electricity in 2025, shows a report produced by PwC in collaboration with the World Economic Forum, but at the same time there will be an increase in energy demand from developing economies, adaptation efforts to climate changes, the electrification of transport systems, artificial intelligence and data centers. In the absence of a better demand management and increased energy efficiency, these factors could dermine the progress made in increasing the use of renewable energy, determining a continuation of dependence on fossil fuels.
