Orange Romania has launched the first complete cybersecurity solution for home users and small businesses, that combines both device and network-level protection. With Orange Cybersecure, customers can browse the internet worry-free, make online transactions and purchases without risk, and keep their identity and personal data safe. The option provides protection at the subscription level. At the same time, the entire family benefits from offline security, as the solution provides protection for up to 10 devices, regardless of the network they are on (Orange, other national mobile networks, Wi-Fi, networks outside Romania).
According to a 2025 study, 61% of Romanians report having been the target of online fraud attempts. On the other hand, 68% of Romanians living in urban areas consider themselves well-informed about digital risks. Among the most frequently reported types of digital threats by victims are device infections with malware or viruses (42%), financial loss (30%) and theft of personal data, such as banking information, passwords or documents (22%). In this context, awareness about online dangers alone proves to be insufficient. Active, easy to use protection is needed, covering all channels that attackers or fraudsters can exploit.
Complete Protection for the Entire Family
The new option leverages Orange Cyberdefense’s expertise and integrates multiple technologies. It is not a simple antivirus, but contains two complementary solutions: security integrated directly into Orange's network and advanced device protection. On the one hand, the application scans the devices on which it is installed, to protect users from malware, ransomware, and spyware. And, of course, it provides protection while browsing the internet, against dangerous websites. On the other hand, it offers protection directly at the network level, securing users even before threats reach their devices, for up to 5 Orange voice and/or mobile internet subscriptions and one Orange fixed fiber internet subscription.

Orange Cybersecure offers 10 licenses that can be installed on the entire family’s devices: Android and iPhone smartphones and tablets, laptops/desktops running Windows or Apple MacBooks. It does not matter what network the devices are connected to, or whether they were purchased from Orange. Here are the other benefits offered by the application:

• online identity monitoring (email addresses, usernames, phone numbers, national ID numbers, bank cards, bank accounts, passports, driving licenses, health cards).
• sends immediate notifications in the event of data leaks (dark web, breaches).
• protection against suspicious Wi-Fi networks.
• AdBlocker – blocks online advertising.
• Parental controls – filters online content on children's devices, especially for inappropriate websites.
Who Is It For, How to Activate It and Costs
Orange Cybersecure, with all the benefits described above, costs 4 EUR/month (VAT included). The option can be activated by Orange individual subscribers or by small business owners. Subscriptions eligible for network-level protection activation are: mobile voice, mobile internet and fiber internet (excluding Net Fix 4G, Net Fix 5G+).
The option can be activated or deactivated via the My Orange app or online platform. Preferences can also be set from here, licenses for other devices can be managed, and internet traffic protection on the Orange network can be configured.
To benefit from device-level protection, the Orange Cybersecure application can be installed on smartphones or tablets running Android or iOS (iPhone). It can also be installed on computers (laptop/desktop) running Windows or macOS (Apple MacBook, Apple desktops, etc.). Installation is done through the My Orange account and all preferences mentioned above can also be set directly from the app.
The browsers compatible with internet browsing protection are: Safari on devices running iOS or macOS; Chrome on smartphones/tablets running Android; Edge, Chrome or Firefox on laptops/PCs running Windows or macOS.
A Platform Available for Every Citizen to Identify Scams
The launch of Orange Cybersecure in Romania is completed by the launch of a free portal, where any Romanian can check suspicious links. The tool is available on the Orange Cybersecure page or directly on the link, leveraging Orange Cyberdefense’s fraud detection. The latter is Orange’s cybersecurity company, a European leader in the field, providing services across 13 countries, serving 50,000 companies of all sizes and 500,000 individuals.
This portal allows the verification of website links and assessing whether they are safe or malicious. It also offers access to cyber contents: to learn about cybersecurity best practices or to highlight new scam campaigns happening in Romania. Once detected, a scam and its methodology are integrated into a Cyber Threat Intelligence database to alert the community of all internet users. Since its first launch in France in June 2024, 600,000 webpages have been verified with 2/3 being malicious.
