Intracom Telecom, a global telecommunication systems and solutions vendor, has been awarded the project of upgrading the physical security of the facilities of the Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator (DESFA) S.A., by combining modern technologies for objects verification, alarms triggering and identification of security breach events. Completion of the project is anticipated by April 2022.
Within the frame of the contract the company has undertaken the design, supply and installation of all required hardware and software components, ensuring unhindered interface and integration with existing systems/infrastructure, utilizing SISC(2) platform, Intracom Telecom’s solution for surveillance, collaboration, coordination and administration of diverse security and operations management related events.
DESFA will benefit from Intracom Telecom’s solution, installed in eleven DESFA facilities across Greece to provide 24-hour real-time monitoring. The Operator has decided to employ this modular and scalable software in order to further strength its security capabilities and protect its personnel and infrastructure against theft, vandalism, sabotage or any malicious action. In addition the operator will be able to provide assistance to the workers, especially when they work in emergency situations. The implemented physical security system will be managed from a central point – specifically DESFA’s Physical Security Control Center – while regional and local physical security Control Centers across all DESFA facilities will be implemented so as to operate in remote locations.
