Industrial production grows 0.3 percent as gross series, in first ten months

Industrial production grew 0.3 percent as gross series and 0.6 percent as working day and seasonally adjusted series in the first 10 months of 2012 compared with the same period last year, according to a press release from the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

'By main industrial groups the following increases were recorded: in the durable goods industry (+4.3 percent) and in the capital goods industry and the energy industry (+2.9 percent each). The intermediate goods and the durable goods industry fell 3.8 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively. Industrial production, as working day and seasonally adjusted series, in the period January 1 - October 31, 2012, compared with the same period last year increased 0.6 percent, supported by the growth witnessed in the production and supply of electricity and thermal energy, gas, steam and air conditioning (+5.7 percent) and in the mining industry (+1.5 percent).The manufacturing industry declined 0.2 percent,' INS informs.


By main industrial groups, there were increases in the durable goods industry (+4.3 percent), the capital goods industry (+4.1 percent), the energy industry (+2.8 percent) and the current goods industry (+0.3 percent). The intermediate goods industry decreased 3.5 percent.
