Health and family are the top priorities Romanians wish to protect, yet most would find themselves without the funds they believe they would need to cope with an emergency. While 45% estimate they would require at least 20,000 lei to handle an accident, illness, or other unforeseen situation, 51% state they have immediate access to less than a quarter of that amount. Only 10% could fully cover the sum they believe is necessary, according to a study commissioned by Allianz-Tiriac and conducted by the Center for Urban and Regional Sociology (CURS) on a nationwide sample of 1,218 respondents.
