Holcim (Romania) confirms its sustainability commitment through actions and operational evidence, stimulating the transition to a greener built environment by leasing a 2282 sqm space in office building B in Oregon Park, one of the most sustainable non-residential centers in Bucharest.
The choice was made in the context of the adoption of the new construction decarbonization model and the new brand identity, recently launched by Holcim (Romania), through which the company aims to: decarbonize Holcim's operations, deliver solutions and products with a low CO2 footprint, develop of solutions for the buildings of the future and encouraging the use of resources from construction and demolition waste by applying the circular economy.

The new office where Holcim employees work benefits from BREEAM certification, which confirms the sustainability efforts through the construction materials used and through the multiple energy and resource efficiency facilities. In fact, Oregon Park is recognized as the office complex with the largest green area in Bucharest.

With this change, the Holcim Romania Group brings the employees of the Holcim (Romania) and Somaco Group Prefabricate companies to the same office, another proof of the commitment to sustainability and encouraging a collaborative work environment, in synergy between the members of the group companies.
Today, Romania ranks second in Central and Eastern Europe in terms of green buildings, with most of the green buildings in Romania being developed in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Iași and Brașov. In 2022 the construction types with the most sustainably certified buildings are retail buildings, logistics sector buildings and office buildings.
Green buildings are projects built with attention to environmental impact, and efficient use of resources. These buildings have less carbon embedded in their construction and facilitate a low CO2 footprint and low water and energy consumption during use.
