Cargill continues to support local communities, in compliance with its corporate responsibility policy, through which it is committed to improving the communities in which it operates. For the Independenta commune, Cargill has allocated the necessary funds for the full restoration of the electrical installation of the clinic and for the rehabilitation of two medical cabinets. The company's contribution amounted to US $10,000.
Cargill volunteers worked on whitewashing the two cabinets and through the partnership with Agrozootehnica and the local authorities, they succeeded in bringing significant and sustainable improvements to this community.
Mrs. Diana Ojica, Chairman of Cargill’s Committee for Corporate responsibility, pointed out that "we are always concerned about the needs of people in the communities in which we operate and we have worked together with Agrozootehnica and local authorities to help them receive adequate medical services."
"This project of Cargill’s corporate responsibility team is a good example of collaboration between the company volunteers and local partners for the benefit of the communities. Together we can successfully implement this important project for our commune." outlined Mr. Constantin Anghel, the Administrator of Agrozootehnica.
The program also benefited from the support of local authorities, the Mayor of the Independenta commune, Mr. Voicu Lica stating that: "Cargill has been involved in the wellbeing of our community since the beginning of its activities in this region. I am pleased to see that their efforts together with the efforts of their partner Agrozootehnica led to another successful project. I sincerely thank you for your help and I hope with all my heart that we will continue this partnership for a better future."
