Romania's fiscal and budgetary situation has reached the point where the numerous problems accumulated over the years have generated a crisis that must be urgently corrected. The lack of predictability fueled by frequent legislative and fiscal changes without impact studies, the unsustainable increase in public spending, the very long delays in the modernization and technology endowment of the tax administration are just some of the causes that have generated fiscal inequity in the economy and in remuneration in the public system, insufficient collection of state revenues and ever-increasing deficits, which are harder to finance and, implicitly, a state of dissatisfaction among many social categories.
