Banks will be forced to make significant changes in order to return to double-digit profitability and to eliminate the impact of high costs, of shortcomings from the control area and increased competition. The same thing can also be applied to universal banks, considering the complexe range of challenges that they are facing at this moment: from efficiency and productivity problems, low profitability, growing prices, income stagnation, to a real cultural and trust crisis.
