The Romanian M&A market decreased in the first half of 2014

The Romanian M&A market is registering a moderate decrease of its activity in the first semester of 2014, compared to the first semester of 2013, according to the EY M&A Barometer Romania H12014

Unlike Romania, most countries in Central and South-Eastern Europe (CSE) registered an intensification of the M&A activity in the first semester of this year, with a total number of 629 transactions. Moreover, we notice a significant growth, namely 35.9%, of the estimate M&A market value in the CSE region compared to the first semester of 2013, mainly generated by a megatransaction that took place on the Czech market in the first semester of this year.
