The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) has been simplified according to Regulation (EU) 2025/2083, the most important changes being the introduction of a quantitative threshold of 50 tonnes per year, below which imports of goods are not subject to the requirements of this mechanism and the relaxation of the deadlines for submitting the application for authorized declarant, of reporting and for operations with CBAM certificates.
