The law no. 66/2016 which modifies and complets OUG no. 111/201o regarding the maternity leave and monthly allowance for child-care brings significant changes in social protection measures that are granted during the period when the professional activity of the parent is suspended.
According to the Ministry of Labour estimations, the number of child-care allowance beneficiries will raise to 140000, comparing to 138700. Also, the upper limit of the allowance will be eliminated for about 5.500 people that are currently receiving the maximum allowance.
