The idea that a crisis, no matter how serious, can offer opportunities for reforms and major changes, difficult to implement in ordinary times, seems as relevant as ever, both for Romania and for other countries in the world. Rahm Emanuel, former advisor to US President Barack Obama and former mayor of Chicago, said that no crisis should be wasted (from the English "never let a good crisis go to waste") in the context of the 2008 financial crisis. Now, 17 years after that moment, things look much different, they have become more complicated, but the idea seems perfectly valid.
