The National Audiovisual Council (CNA) adopted on June 25, 2025 a new Code regulating audiovisual content which prohibits, among other things, advertising by pharmacies and promotions related to food supplements: "Art. 154 – (1) It is prohibited (…) to promote pharmacies by associating them with promotions for medicines, medical treatments, homeopathic products, medical devices and food supplements. "The CNA appears to be acting contrary to the purpose of protecting the public, free competition and the recommendations of the Competition Council, although it provided it with information within the study on the OTC medicines and food supplements markets and was even subjected to an investigation by the competition authority in the past."
