Bogdan Ion takes over the position of Chief Operating Officer for the Central and South Eastern Europe and Central Asia Region

Starting of July 1st, Bogdan Ion, Country Managing Partner EY Romania, also takes over the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the new EY region - CESA, which includes Central and South-East Europe and Central Asia and comprises 31 countries.

Due to the extensive and strong integration of the EY network, global business professionals have access to global resources where customers can first benefit from opportunities around the world. In order to exploit its global presence as efficiently as possible, EY is structured by region, each under the coordination of an executive.

They are grouped into four coordinated geographic areas of executives reporting to the global leadership team. Working together, they ensure the implementation of the global EY strategy, the maintenance of brand unity and relevance, business planning and investment.

The four geographical areas include 28 regions, grouped as follows: America, Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA); Asia Pacific and Japan. This structure is simplified, allowing quick decisions, strategy execution and exceptional customer service anywhere in the world.

Bogdan Ion, joined EY in 2006 and became the Country Managing Partner of EY Romania in July 2011. Bogdan’s experience covers a wide range of assurance and consulting services for local and multinational companies. He has been contributing to various Boards of Directors and Audit Committees on areas as governance, risk and transformation. He is a frequent contributor and supporter of the Romania’ entrepreneurship and innovation agenda.

Bogdan is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the United Kingdom, of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania (CAFR) and of the Romanian Chamber of Expert Accountants and Accountants (CECCAR).

He has been a member of AmCham's board of directors in Romania for a period of 5 years and also a member of the Board of UN Global Compact Romania, the largest initiative of corporate citizenship in the world to support sustainability.

Since 2011, Bogdan is a member of the board of Junior Achievement Romania, a world leader in the development of entrepreneurial abilities for young people.
