Vodafone Romania announces the key performance indicators for the fiscal year 2016/2017, from April 1st, 2016, to March 31st, 2017, as reported today by Vodafone Group Plc.
Vodafone Romania had 9,441,063 total customers (mobile, fixed voice and machine to machine) at March 31st, 2017, representing an increase of 320.918 users as compared to last year. Out of the total number of customers, 8,744,061 were mobile customers.
Vodafone Romania’s mobile ARPU was Euro 6.1 over the fiscal year ended on March 31st, 2017.
Service revenues for the full year 2016/2017 reached EUR 707.2 million, increasing by 2.7%, compared to last year, on an organic basis.
At March 31st, 2017, mobile postpaid customers represented 41%, and prepaid customers 59% of the total mobile base. Mobile prepaid base as a percentage of total mobile base increased by 0.2 percentage points as compared to same period of last year.
Data usage increased by 100.4% for the year ended March 31st, 2017, compared to the same period of last year.
Smartphone penetration increased by 3.7 percentage points in the year ended March 31st, 2017, compared to last year.
Ravinder Takkar, President and CEO, Vodafone Romania, stated: “Our focus on providing innovative services and the best user experience has resulted in significant growth of our customer base and of service revenue. Last year we launched Supernet 4G+, The Fastest Mobile Network in the country according to Speedtest by Ookla and The Best in Test according to P3 communications, which led to an increasing data usage among our customers on their smartphones during the year. In 2017 we celebrate 20 years since the launch of the first mobile digital network in the country through special offers and bonuses for our customers”.
