The growth of the EU economy is based on peripheral economies, the pace of disinflation is slowing down, trade chains are becoming shorter

2024 The growth of peripheral economies in Europe takes off thanks to the money allocated through the recovery and resilience mechanism and the pre-accession assistance instrument, disinflation slows down globally, and distance starts to play an important role again in bilateral trade between countries.

In May, the European Commission improved its forecast for EU economic growth in 2024 to 1%, slightly above PwC's projection of 0.8%. The block registered an increase of 0.3% in the second quarter, equaling the increase recorded in the first quarter.
