According to the latest report of the European Society of Cardiology, Romania loses over one billion euros annually due to reduced productivity of the patients who are forced to take sick leave or give up work and also because family members are required to stay at home to care for them

The same report shows that Romania is the 9th country in Europe in terms of deaths caused by cardiovascular disease.
