Record losses of 52 billion euros for the Swiss National Bank, after the franc depreciation

In the first semester of 2015, the Swiss National Bank reported record losses of 50.1 billion Swiss francs (52 billion dollars), compared to the similar period from 2014 when it had a profit of 16 billion, announced the spokesman of SNB, Walter Meier.

After 15 January 2015, when the Swiss National Bank eliminated the threshold of 1.20 francs for 1 euro, it is dealing now with effects of the strong franc. The elimination of the threshold has led to franc appreciation with 13% in relation to the euro, a fact which has created problems for Swiss exporters.
