'The data provided by Ancom took into account both subscriptions and SIM, the prepaid cards in active portfolios of telecom companies as Cosmote Romania, Orange Romania, RCS & RDS, Romtelecom, Telemobil and Vodafone Romania', said Director of Regulation Department of ANCOM, Eduard Lovin present at a specialized event today.
According to ANCOM, the number of prepaid cards decreased by 4.7% to 13.4 million, while subscriptions have seen a reduction of 1% to 6.36 million for individual customers segment, and 0.01%, to 2.94 million, for firms. Penetration of telephone services decreased by almost four percentage points from December 2011 to 119.2%.
The average duration of a mobile phone call was estimated at 2 minutes and 24 seconds, up to 7 seconds from the end of 2011, while average monthly traffic registered by an active user increased by 8.3% to 3 hours and 42 minutes.
