In the European perspective of the return of the economic growth, a study conducted for Microsoft by Ipsos Mori in March 2014 evaluates the part digital technologies play in increasing the competitiveness of small and medium enterprises. The study was conducted in March 2014 amongst 5,770 employees of companies with up to 250 employees from the European markets, including 501 employees of Romanian companies.
The key results of this study show that Romanian employees embrace modern IT technologies due to the increased productivity and the ability to raise the flexibility at the work place. Based on the dynamics with their employers in 2014, Romanian employees recommend, as priorities, investments in increasing data security and the possibility of mobility and distance work.
