Kaspersky Lab contributes into mobile media and entertainment industry development

Kaspersky Lab has become a member of the MEF, the global trade association for mobile content and commerce

The company announced its membership on February 27 during Mobile World Congress 2013 at the MEF Breakfast Briefing on Consumer Trust in Apps which was dedicated to Security & Privacy.

MEF membership allows Kaspersky Lab to closely cooperate with the leading global players of the mobile market and contribute into the growth of the industry.

Kirill Zelensky, Kaspersky Lab’s Global Business Development Director, Mobile, said: “I am pleased that Kaspersky Lab joined the MEF. Security and mobile device management have recently become a key issue for the mobile industry: both companies and personal users need to protect their devices, securing their personal and corporate data. Kaspersky Lab has vast experience in this field and I believe this is an important opportunity to share this expertise with the leading players in the mobile industry.”

Rimma Perelmuter, CEO, MEF commented: “Our mission is to support our members across the global mobile ecosystem. Consumer Trust is a critical issue for the industry; 35% of consumers in MEF’s latest study cited Trust as a barrier to purchasing more on mobile. We are delighted to welcome Kaspersky Lab as part of our international member community and for the team to share their expertise and insight at the Consumer Trust in Apps briefing yesterday at MWC2013.”
