The partnership with IULIUS MALL represents the first green certification of a shopping mall network deployed by Colliers International in Romania and one of the largest projects of its kind in Europe.
The four IULIUS shopping centers have a total leasable area of more than 190.000 square meters, housing nearly 900 stores and attracting over 40 million visitors annually. IULIUS GROUP is the largest developer and operator of shopping malls in Romania and owns, in addition to the four malls under the IULIUS brand, the PALAS urban eEnsemble of buildings eeensemble which is the largest real estate investment outside the Capital.
The company recently became a member of the US Green Building Council (2012) and of the Romanian Green Building Council (2013). The commitment towards the green building standards are proof of the company’s concern for the environment and social responsibility, through the increase of energy efficiency, improvment of thermal comfort and natural lighting, aimed at creating a healthy environment for the clients and partners of IULIUS MALL.
Colliers International is one of the first real estate companies in Romania with accredited professionals to offer green certification advisory services, following the launch of its dedicated service in 2011. Colliers offers consultancy for LEED and BREEAM certifications for existing buildings, with the purpose of improving their performance and sustainability, as well as for new developments. As part of the company’s on-going efforts toward service excellence and unsurpassed expertise, one of the Colliers team members recently became the first LEED Accredited Professional for Existing Buildings Operations and Maintenance (LEED AP O+M) in Romania. At present, Colliers assists 13 projects in Romania and over 20 projects throughout Central and Eastern Europe in obtaining the Green Certification.

ABOUT THE PROJECTS:
- Iulius Mall Iasi, open since April 2000, is the first mall in Romania built outside Bucharest. Following two enlargement processes, the mall has a total leasable area of 23.700 m2, representing a total investment of €23 million. Iulius Mall Iasi comprises over 200 shops of renowned national and international brands, the 5-room multiplex Cinema City, a food court, a Carrefour Market supermarket and over 1.000 parking spaces. In addition, the mall features a large range of leisure facilities: restaurants, coffee and confectionery shops, casino, bowling and billiards club, internet and electronic games lounge, as well as a playground for children.
- Iulius Mall Timisoara, launched in 2005 and expanded in 2009, is the largest mall outside the Capital city of Romania, with a total GLA of over 67.000m2. The mall hosts 340 national and international brands, 2.500 over-ground and underground parking spaces,a food court with a capacity of 1.700 people, Auchan hypermarket, 7-room multiplex Cinema City and a multitude of leisure facilities, totaling an investment of €105 million.
- Iulius Mall Cluj, the third mall from the national network IULIUS, was inaugurated in November 2007 after a total investment of €80 million. - Iulius Mall Suceava was launched in November 2008, following an investment of over €60 million. With a total GLA of nearly 50.000 m2, Iulius Mall Suceava hosts 150 stores, the hypermarket Auchan, Bricostore DIY unit, a children's entertainment area, casino, food court, an outdoor soccer field, a seasonal ice rink, the biggest bowling and billiards club in Suceava, as well as a parking lot with 1.300 spaces.
