BCR continues to encourage payments through automated equipment and discourage payments at bank counters

Banca Comerciala Romana begins, starting with February 1st this year, as part of the strategy to stimulate the non-cash transactions, a process to introduce the fees for payment of invoices with cash at bank counters

Thus, BCR will introduce two new fees for invoices payment operations with cash at the bank counters, which will be differently applied depending on the type of client, respectively: the clients of the bank will pay a fee of RON 4 for the payment of the invoice with cash at the BCR counters and for those who are not clients of the bank the fee will be of RON 8 for the payment of the invoice with cash.

„BCR will continue to encourage the payment of invoices through automated equipments to the detriment of the payments at the bank counters, the bank recently installing a network of 400 such appliances. If we follow the evolution of the number of transactions made by our clients with the support of a cashier and those made without the support of a cashier, namely by the client himself through internet banking, POS, ATM, automated teller machines, etc. we observe an increase from the annual average of 68% in 2011, to 73.5% in 2012, reaching in December 2012 at about 76%. This evolution confirms the fact that there is a growing desire of the BCR clients in the intense use of methods of making the cash operations through automated channels (ATM, self service) and without cash through electronic channels (POS, internet banking, etc.), declared Mr. Bogdan Marin, Executive Director – Retail Channels Division at BCR.

BCR continues to provide to individuals, clients of the bank, the possibility to achieve the invoice payment operations, free of charge, for the payments without cash made from the current account through:

  •  “ATM Invoices Payment” Service through the ATMs network of BCR (over 2.400 ATMs throughout the country)
  • Click 24Banking
  • Alo 24Banking
  • Direct Debit Service
  • Mobile Transactions (*183#)

The cash deposit in the own current accounts carried out at the cash acquiring machines (automated counters and multifunction machines) or counters of the bank is FREE OF CHARGE.

BCR offers the clients the possibility to carry out payments with cash through the 470 cash acquiring automated machines (Automated Counters and Multifunctional Machines), where these operations may be carried out free of charge.

BCR has developed the Self Service concept by installing a network of 400 automated counters, the value of the investment amounting to about EURO 2 million.

Retail clients of Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) have carried out in the year 2012, transactions via the internet (Click 24 Banking Service) and telephone (Alo 24 Banking Service) amounting over RON 20 billion (approx. EURO 4.5 billion), almost 30% more than in the previous year.
