A big part of family businesses in Romania is getting ready to pass on the torch to the second generation

92% of family businesses in Central and Eastern Europe are still being managed by the founding generation, in contrast to 70% of businesses in Western Europe.

An overwhelming majority of families of entrepreneurs have not yet gone through succession, thus they have not passed the critical phase of generation transfer, which is an extremely complex and challenging procedure. In this situation, the knowledge and the experience needed to manage and solve the challenges of this process which is typical to family businesses, are minimum and limited when it comes to family businesses in Central and Eastern Europe, including Romania.
