For years, companies have measured the impact of training activities using easily reportable metrics—such as the number of participants, hours of training delivered, participant satisfaction levels, and final program evaluation scores.
However, these indicators reveal little about what truly matters to the business. Did people learn something new? Were they able to apply it? Did their behavior change? Did specific competencies improve? Can the company demonstrate this progress?
