The Android users use most often the digital wallet, but iOS users make higher payments:
· 1 mil. euro - the total estimated value for payments by mobilPay Wallet in 2016
· 85 lei - the average amount paid by the digital wallet in Q1
· 65 lei - the average receipts paid by mobilPay Wallet in the Carrefour and Cora
The value of digital payments with MobilPay Wallet, developed by NETOPIA mobilPay, the local market leader of payments increased by over 100% in the first three months of the year compared to the same period last year. By the end of 2016, the transactions made with digital wallet will exceed 1 million euros, according to company estimates.
According to the data provided by the NETOPIA mobilPay, of all Romanians who have installed the app, two-thirds hold devices with Android OS and the rest has the iOS. However, the value of payments on the Apple devices is on average 25% higher than that recorded on smartphones with Android.
