The carbon tax, established through the carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM), enters the next stage of the implementation calendar, in which the taxpayers concerned are obliged to report the actual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) incorporated in goods imported from outside the Union European (EU).
The change takes place starting with the next quarterly reporting (July-September), which has a submission deadline of October 31, 2024, and in Romania, the Ministry of Finance has already started sending notifications to importers about the obligation to comply with the CBAM regulation.
