“Work claims more victims than war every year”, says Guy Ryder, general director of the International Labour Organization. Despite this, professional diseases are not mentioned anywhere in the annual reports of the International Labour Organization regarding the top ten deadly diseases in the world. Every day, at a global level, 850,000 minor incidents which are related to occupational risks take place, and the direct and indirect costs of these accidents are estimated to 2.13 billion euros worldwide, according to the report.
