The new Burger King restaurant in AFI Cotroceni, operated by AmRest, a leading European restaurant and foodservice platform, served over 6,000 customers on the post-opening weekend.

The new Burger King restaurant in AFI Cotroceni, operated by AmRest, a leading European restaurant and foodservice platform, served over 6,000 customers on the post-opening weekend. This led to a new sales record in Central Eastern Europe, where AmRest operates Burger King restaurants in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria and, starting this year, Romania. Launched on December 13th, this is the second Burger King restaurant opened by AmRest in Bucharest, in less than three months since the opening of the first Burger King in Romania.

 “In only three days, we sold 7,000 Burgers and served 6,000 Customers in the new Burger King restaurant in AFI Cotroceni. We entered the Romanian market with ambitious plans and we are glad that we managed to have sales records in the CEE region with our first two restaurants in Romania. We move forward with our expansion plan and we plan to open one more Burger King restaurant in Bucharest this winter”, stated Alan Laughlin, President Burger King AmRest.

The restaurant opening in AFI Cotroceni came with great results:

  • 1,800 Whopper burgers sold;
  • customers served;
  • employees serving all customers;
  • Burger King crowns offered to our customers;
  • Over 600 kg of fries sold;
  • Over 7,000 burgers sold (not just Whopper);
  • The grill worked over 35 hours in the first 3 days;
  • Oreo Shake – most popular dessert.

The new Burger King is situated in AFI Cotroceni and is open from Monday to Sunday, 09:00-23:00. This is the second Burger King restaurant opened in Romania, in less than three months since the opening of the first Burger King restaurant in our country.

AmRest and Burger King will continue the recruitment campaign in Bucharest, with wage offers ranging from 1,750 Lei net (2,950 gross lei) for the Crew Members and 2,500 to 3,800 lei net (4,250 – 6,500 lei gross) for managers. The benefits that are available to all Burger King employees consist of meal tickets, medical care and additional attractive bonuses. The company anticipates growth and expects to double its staff by the end of next year.
