The HCCJ Decision on the seizure of the KMG International assets could affect its investments in Romania

The decision of the High Court of Cassation and Justice (HCCJ) on maintaining of the seizure established by the Direction of the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIOCT) on the assets of the KMG International might affect the development plans and the medium-term investment of the company in Romania, is shown in a press release of the company issued on Friday to AGERPRES.

" KMG International noted the extremely severe decision adopted by the High Court of Cassation and Justice (HCCJ) on maintaining the seizure of DIOCT established in May 2016. We believe that this measure is not necessary, given that there is no risk extinction, destruction or theft of the Group property.
We believe that HCCJ has not taken into account the information and documents submitted by the Group on the seizure complained of DIOCT, which shows that the total value of the goods concerned (Kaz Munai Gas International, Oilfield Business Solutions and SC Rompetrol Rafinare SA) amounted to over RON 6 billion, double the level of RON 3 billion claimed as injury of the institution " is shown in the press release.
