The proposed changes in the Tax Code aims to reduce the standard VAT rate from 24 % to 20 % since 1 January 2016 and 18 % since 1 January 2018 .
Also, for products like meat, fish, vegetables and fruits, the reduction may reach a VAT rate of 9%. VAT reduction measures are intended to support and boost the economy and to determine an increase in the income of the middle class.
