Profi opens its first City stores

PROFI opens its first small-format urban stores, the CITY, that offer customers the benefit of proximity while also spelling a chance for those who choose to run their own store and also want to benefit from the strength of a major modern retail network

“Tradesmen who wish to run their own business but do not have the money and all the right knowledge to properly do so will get support from PROFI that, in turn, for the success of the business, will benefit from their experience and commercial skills,” said PROFI Rom Food General Manager Pawel Musial. “This the kind of arrangement is good for such tradesmen, for PROFI and for our clients alike.”

Five stores with total areas ranging between 180 and 316 sq.m that PROFI has recently acquired from Alimrom will now bear the PROFI CITY brand name.

Two of them are located at 18 and 163, Bd. Nicolae Titulescu, the third stands at 133, 21 Decembrie 1989 Street, the fourth is located at 40, Str. Viilor and the fifth stands at 5, Str. Clabucet.

The dominant color of the outer signage will no longer be red, but green, in order to point out the emphasis these stores place on fresh products. The PROFI CITY identity is complete with a clock meant to suggest that one also saves time when shopping at these stores.

Unlike the standard PROFI stores, those in the CITY category will have a more restricted, yet better adapted range of products meant to meet the needs of proximity clients. Just the same, in proportion with the size of their sales rooms, the number of employees of such stores will be smaller, approximately 12 people that are often relatives and this will make stores look more familiar.

With these openings, PROFI grows to have  162 stores in 88 localities in 36 counties and becomes the second largest player on the modern retail market in Romania.
