Petrom invests EUR 26 million in a fuel deposit at Isalnita

Petrom, the largest crude oil and natural gas producer in south-east Europe, opened the third fuel deposit built from foundation at Isalnita, Dolj county, reads a company release.

With a capacity of 11,000 cubic meters, the Isalnita deposit will be responsible for storage in southern Romania. The project is part of an investment programme including the construction of three new deposits (Jilava, south, Brazi-south, Isalnita) and updating three more deposits.


'This is the third fuel deposit built from foundation in the past three years. We will be more efficient with a modern network of deposits and we will keep provide products to Petrom clients in total accordance with the European standards for this activity. We also confirm our commitment made during the strategy on 2021 to continue to improve our operations through a modern network of terminals supporting the distribution network through stations. We have invested 87 million euros to build the three deposits at Jilava, Brazi and Isalnita,' said Neil Anthony Morgan, member of Petrom board, responsible for refining and marketing.


All three newly-built deposits are fully mechanized and observe the Romanian and European rules and standards in effect. They have a total capacity of 46,000 cubic metres.


Petrom is the largest oil group in South-East Europe with activities in exploration and production, gas and power, refining and marketing. OMV, one of the major public industrial companies in Austria, holds 51.01 percent of OMV Petrom, Proprietatea Fund has 20.11 percent, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has 2.03 percent, and 6.21 percent are the free-float on Bucharest Stock Exchange.
