Mylan N.V. and Mylan Inc. ( Nasdaq: MYL ) announced on February 27, 2015 the successful completion of the take-over of mature and generic drugs division of Abbott Laboratories (NYSE : ABT ) in developed markets outside the United States .
As a result of this transaction, Abbott received 110 million shares of Mylan NV , representing 22% of total shares, the remaining 78 % being held by the previous shareholders of Mylan Inc. , the current company Mylan NV.
