Modernization includes expanding the storage capacity of existing warehouses with over 4,000 square meters, enabling Dunapack to improve its service. Also in this first stage, the factory was equipped with a Bobst cardboard machine and a Masterfold branding machine. This equipment will allow the Sfantu Gheorghe plant to further increase the complexity and quality of the complete packaging solutions provided.
The final product take-up and packaging system has been fully automated to provide a modern work environment that enables Dunapack to maintain a high standard of health and safety for its staff.
The second stage of modernization involves replacing the corrugated cardboard machine with a new and highly efficient BHS brand. Installation works will be completed in the first quarter of 2020.
Together with the new Dunapack factory in Bolintin, 20 km west of Bucharest (which will start operating in the summer of 2019), the company will reach a production capacity of over 300 million square meters per year in Romania.
"After a strong presence for more than 20 years on the Romanian market we are very proud of our team. The Sfantu Gheorghe plant has always worked as a pivot at national level, and enlargement and modernization processes will consolidate and secure that position over a long period of time, "said Alexander Enzenberg, Managing Director of Dunapack Packaging.
Stanislav Razpopov, Regional Director of the Southern Area of Dunapack Packaging adds: "With the new configuration and the latest generation of installed equipment, we will be able to provide our customers with higher quality packaging solutions. This investment provides us with confidence for the successful continuation of operations on the Romanian market, a very important market for the company. "
Currently, Dunapack Packaging Division is represented by 20 corrugated packaging plants in 10 countries.
