Deutsche Bahn pays EUR 67 mln for majority stake at Regiotrans Brasov

German national railway company Deutsche Bahn expands on the Romanian transport market by purchasing 70 percent of the stake of passenger transport operator Regiotrans Brasov, following a transaction estimated at EUR 67 million.

According to the contract signed by the two companies, the German company can increased the ownership within the Romanian company, German newspaper Handelsblatt reads, quoting Reuters.

Regiotrans, with 760 employees, ended last year with a turnover of 225.5 million lei, with 28.4 percent more compared with previous year, while the company’s profit doubled to reach 8.66 million, according to data published by Ministry of Finance.
