Dacia exports over 6 mln cubic meters of auto parts over past 7 years

Dacia carmaker has exported over 6 million cubic meters of auto parts for the vehicles produced in the Renault and Nissan plants worldwide between 2005-2012, the company reports in a release sent at the beginning of this week.

The parts have been delivered via the Dacia Central Logistics Direction, for more than 2.5 million vehicles. The Central Logistics Direction, located on the Mioveni industrial platform, ensures the supply of car parts to 13 plants manufacturing vehicles under the brand Dacia, Renault, Nissan or Mahindra&Mahindra, including the Romania-based plant in Mioveni.


According to the above-quoted source, the Logistics Direction of Dacia manages 6,570 unique parts necessary for producing cars in different versions, for the Dacia, Renault and Nissan models, provided by 492 suppliers, with 87 located in Romania and 405 abroad.


In 2011, the same Direction shipped nearly 1.25 million cubic meters of parts for 619,405 vehicles. Within the aforementioned direction, about 190 employees co-work to supply the vehicles to the 79 concessionaires and 71 export destinations.


A number of 329,812 cars were delivered in 2011, out of which 299,222 for the export, in 28,563 lorries and 565 trains.The most remote destination is the New Caledonia, with the shipping period lasting 45 days, the release reads.
