Study: 68% of consumers do not trust companies to manage their personal data

Gigya, a company recently acquired by SAP, the market leader in consumer identification and management solutions, conducted a survey among customers to find out their perceptions about the security and confidentiality of personal data in the online environment

According to the survey, The 2017 State of Consumer Privacy and Trust Survey, over two-thirds (68%) of consumers do not trust companies to manage their personal data.
 
According to Gigya, 38% of consumers want more transparency from companies, and 77% want to decide how, where and when brands communicate with them.
