In the first six months of 2026, Orange Romania recorded consolidated revenues of EUR 690 million, reflecting a slight increase compared to the same period of the previous year. Orange thus provides mobile services to 9 million customers, fixed broadband internet to more than 1 million customers, and cable and satellite television services to approximately 1 million customers.
In the first half of 2026, Orange Romania accelerated its investments in the network and technological innovation in order to provide customers with higher-performing services. The main developments include the launch of Wi-Fi 7 for residential customers, the large-scale testing of 5G Standalone technology for B2B customers for the first time in Romania, as well as the strengthening of the cybersecurity solutions portfolio and the expansion of 5G/5G+ coverage. These developments mark the first local results of implementing the global Trust the Future strategy, through which Orange is strengthening its infrastructure and technological capabilities, while expanding its role beyond that of a telecom operator toward becoming an integrated provider of connectivity and value-added digital services.
Residential segment: flexibility of the commercial offering and network capabilities remain constant
In the residential segment, Orange continued to develop a flexible offering tailored to users’ diverse needs, through convergent packages for mobile and fixed services and attractive commercial offers.
Thus, in the first half of the year, Orange introduced to the market the first Wi-Fi 7 equipment for residential customers, and launched Net Fix 5G+, the first fixed internet service via 5G for home use in Romania. On mobile, the company expanded 5G and 5G+ coverage to new cities as well as the Bucharest subway and continued developing the PrePay and YOXO offers.
The 100% digital YOXO service continues its positive evolution, with 15% growth in the first half of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025. This confirms growing interest in a fully digital experience. At the same time, YOXO expanded its circular economy ecosystem by launching, together with Recommerce, a buy-back platform that encourages customers to monetize unused phones.
Investments in the network and innovation strengthen customer experience
Orange Romania continued to develop its network and service portfolio to meet the growing demand for high-speed connectivity, with investments of more than EUR 200 million in 2026, for both fixed and mobile networks. Orange offers the highest fixed internet speeds in the country: up to 2.1 Gbps for residential customers and 10 Gbps for the business segment.
The 5G/5G+ network was available in 130 cities at the end of June 2026, as well as the entire Romanian seaside. At the same time, 5G/5G+ services were extended to 80% of the Bucharest subway network, currently being available in 50 of the 62 stations and tunnels. With regard to fixed infrastructure, in H1 2026, 220,000 households were migrated to the latest fiber optic technology (FTTH: Fiber to the Home), through the decommissioning of the copper network and the upgrading of the older FTTB (Fiber-to-the-Building) technology.
Revenues from integrated IT and cybersecurity solutions increased by over 20%
In the first half of 2026, Orange Business recorded over 20% growth in revenues from IT&C services and equipment. Cybersecurity remains one of the most dynamic business segments, with revenues up by more than 50%, driven by accelerating demand from organizations for digital protection. SCUT is strengthening its market presence. The services provided by the new company were protecting over 2,800 devices from over 125 clients at the end of June and had investigated over 8,500 incidents.
Large-scale IT infrastructure projects and equipment deliveries for companies also supported the segment’s performance: revenues from IT&C equipment nearly doubled compared with the first half of 2025, recording growth of over 90%.
Investments in digital inclusion continue in 2026
In the first half of 2026, more than 29,000 beneficiaries were involved in the education and digital inclusion programs supported by Orange Romania and the Orange Foundation, of whom more than 16,000 were part of the For Good Connections initiative, the social responsibility platform through which Orange encourages dialogue between parents, teachers, and children on online safety. Furthermore, the Orange Foundation invested almost EUR 1 million in digital education, vocational training, and social inclusion programs.
The most important development of the half-year is the launch of the first public-private partnership between the Orange Foundation and the National Cultural Fund Administration (AFCN), through the call for projects “Diz/Abilitatea – Inclusion through Culture.” Through this partnership, the Orange Foundation co-finances 20% of each selected project, contributing to a grant program with a total value of approximately EUR 500,000 in 2026.
Sustainability remains a strategic direction
This year, Orange Romania continued investments in energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and the development of circular economy projects. In the first half of 2026, total energy consumption decreased by 8% compared with the previous year, while operational carbon emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2) were 7% below the projected level.
At the same time, through the RE circular economy program, the operator collected 38,000 old phones, and more than 5,000 refurbished phones were put back on the market, 35% more than in the same period last year.
In addition to the existing program, Orange has introduced a new buy-back partner across its stores, which are now equipped with the solution from Dipli. The partnership is designed to simplify every buy-back transaction in all its stores across the country, offering a unified experience and a much smoother journey for customers who wish to turn their old device into purchasing power.
“The telecom industry is entering a new stage of maturity, in which connectivity becomes the foundation of a much broader digital ecosystem. Competitive advantage will no longer be determined only by network performance, but by the ability to integrate digital services, security, and innovation into an experience with added value for customers. That is why, even in a volatile economic environment, Orange’s investments are always part of a long-term strategy. We are building the infrastructure that customers will need for many years to come” , said Julien Ducarroz, CEO of Orange Romania.
