Following the fall of the communist bloc, more than 30 years ago, the world economy and economic relations between countries have evolved dramatically, being supported by globalization and, in the last 20 years, by digitalization. Multinational companies, which operate in several jurisdictions, have become increasingly powerful, many of them with higher global revenues than the budgets of some medium-sized states, such as Romania.
