Nine out of ten adults from urban areas in Romania own a card and they use it for payments, on average, two times a week, as shown by a MasterCard study regarding the payment behavior particularities of Romanians.
The study’s results confirm the maturing trend of electronic payments market, revealing that 97% of those who use their card daily or once every two to three days, are doing it for current shoppings. Contactless technology is starting to be a part of consumers' routine, 15 % of the respondents stating that they pay contactless.
