Cargus, one of the largest courier companies in Romania, saw a significant increase in delivery volumes in the first months of 2025, driven by strong demand determined by both the sales season and also from events such as Valentine's Day and Dragobete. Deliveries in categories like fashion, beauty products, IT accessories, chocolates and handmade items increased by 30% compared to a normal period. During this busy period, more than 2,200 Cargus couriers covered approximately 7 million kilometres, ensuring an average delivery time of no more than 24 hours for over 90% of shipments. At the same time, the deliveries in the Cargus SHIP & GO network, which offers flexible collection options at more than 2,000 locations, saw a 25% increase over the same period last year, further strengthening Cargus' position as a trusted partner in e-commerce.

The beginning of the year is one of the busiest periods for online shopping. Starting with the autumn-winter sales season to Valentine's Day and Dragobete in February, followed by the 1st and 8th of March, Romanians are constantly on the lookout for the perfect gifts.

The first three months of the year are among the most dynamic for deliveries, both door-to-door and through the Cargus Ship & GO network, with peaks driven by key seasonal events. Due to the fact that consumers are increasingly focused on fast and efficient deliveries, optimising operational flows and logistics processes remains a top priority for us. Only by continuously improving we are able to maintain a high level of trust for our partners, while keeping up with the increasing demand and ensuring a seamless delivery experience”, says Serban Stoica, Chief Sales Officer at Cargus.

Since the beginning of the year, more than 90% of packages delivered via Cargus have reached their destination within 24 hours, maintaining a fast and reliable average delivery time. Meanwhile, the deliveries in the Cargus Ship & GO, which offers customers flexible and convenient pickup options at more than 2,000 locations nationwide, has seen a 25% increase compared to the same period last year, highlighting the growing preference for efficient delivery solutions.

Among product categories with the highest delivery demand, fashion and accessories lead the way, with a significant increase in sales of clothing, jewelry and handbags, followed by beauty products such as perfumes, cosmetics and skincare essentials. Technology and gadgets remain top choices, with high demand for smartwatches, headphones, and phone accessories, while chocolates and gourmet gifts continue to be consumer favorites. Meanwhile, handmade and personalized items, including custom t-shirts, jewelry, and home decor, have gained increasing popularity, reflecting a growing preference for thoughtful, personalized gifts.

According to Cargus data, Bucharest leads in gift deliveries at the beginning of the year, accounting for 20% of total shipments, followed by Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Constanța, Brașov, Iași, Pitești, and Craiova.

Cargus mobile and web app surpassed 1.6 million users at the beginning of the year, recording a growth of over 30% compared to the same period in 2024.
