The hospitality sector (HoReCa), an important pillar of the Romanian economy, which contributes almost 5% to the gross domestic product and provides more than 4% of all employees with individual employment contracts, is one of the areas that have been and continue to be severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The measures taken by the state in support of this sector last year were welcome, but the experience of other countries shows how they could be improved.
