Single watchdog for capital, insurance and private pensions markets

Under a legislative draft of the government, the capital market, the insurance market and the private pensions market will be under the supervision of a single watchdog, sources from the financial market told the newswire.

The three financial markets cumulate annual transactions worth over six billion euros and are currently being supervised by three distinct structures: the National Securities Commission (CNVM), the Insurance Supervisory Commission (CSA) and the Private Pension System Supervisory Commission (CSSPP).

'The draft law reached CSSPP for analysis, and the Commission considers in principle issuing a favorable opinion,' sources from CSSPP told the news agency.
