In 2014, the young Europeans continued to face an extremely high level of unemployment. In the EU 28 , adults have faced with an unemployment rate of 9% in the second quarter of 2014 , while young people have faced with an unemployment rate of 22 % , according to the World Employment and Social Outlook, a report made by International Labour Organization.
These figures indicate a value close to 2.5 of the ratio of young unemployed versus adults unemployed. This value was almost 4 or even higher in some countries – such as UK (3.5) and Italy (3.5). For Romania this ratio rises to 4.4.
A key theme of EY Corporate Responsability strategy is the commitment in combating unemployment among young people and the devolpment of future talents generation.
