Practicing high speed learning

Practicing high speed learning

In 2013 we expect a continuous development of interest for high speed learning. It is obvious that the classic training methods are not so efficient anymore and the development of some tailor made sessions for a specific client or group it is aimed, with an essential part of experiential learning.

The consultant – A key factor

Also, the trainer’s consultative side is more and more valued. In the actual context, the client organisations and also the participants during the course are valuing more the applied expertise on their reality, the creative analysis with many practical examples, the programme’s tailor making and workshop seminaries where they have a case on the table and find solutions or ways to resolve the problems. The time of shelf courses, of shows made by trainers with compere vocation and of „breaking news” has gone because of two reasons: people are much stressed because of their business and they are looking for solutions during courses and they do not take such events as an incentive, as it used to be once upon a time.

Usually, the programmes are more expensive while you advance on hierarchical scale. Even if that programme has the same length, in a top management’s case will be more expensive than a programme dedicated to middle managers and more expensive than one tailored for specialists.

Ascendis clients are coming from almost all industries. However, the most projects came from FMCG/Retail and industrial production areas, lately.

Trainings: A developing practice

Lately, Romanian companies are equally interested in professional development as multinational companies. From a year to the next one, they are more numerous. Also, the instruction programmes which are implemented by them are more and more elaborated and they have a middle and long term length.

For the training market this meant a development of programmes which could answer those needs. For Ascendis this meant portfolio’s diversification. To come in specialist’s help, we brought in Romania a range of certifications for completing the skills development programmes, which were included in our portfolio from the beginning. For human resources specialists, we propose to the market to continue with specialization by obtaining the SHRM (Society for Human Resources Management) certification, for example, and for those from process management, we brought in Romania the Lean Six Sigma certifications. Also, Ascendis is preparing an integrated Talent Management programme, which will be available on Romanian market from the middle of 2013.

The largest impact will be made by European funds revival, which will bring a strong need in educational and human resources’ development area. The market growth potential is enormous making possible the tripling of the total training market.  Of course, everything will be happening if the main actors of this market (contractors and clients as well) will be accommodating with the European fund requesting process’s demands and strictness.

Romania is normally and proportional integrated, regarding European training market. Multinational organisations, which are the main industry clients, are acting the same on all regions and countries where they activate, and they are coming with specific requests, well defined selection processes and clearly set goals. More, the Romanian market has developed itself very much in the last 10 years, and in this time, many concepts were cultivated and passed through the most ambitious trainee’s filter.

The educational system should be focused on students and their real needs, which exists in society, but it should be flexible enough in order to fast accommodate to the workforce market changes. Tongues are wagging about an education capable to develop skills, but we still are far away from this desideratum, quartered in too many theories and very few practice.
