Romanians set aside RON 150 million in 2013 to voluntary pension, 21% more than in 2012

The 10 voluntary pension funds (Pillar III) reached at the end of 2013 to a total of about 313,000 participants, in benefit of whom administered net assets totaling over RON 811 million (EUR 184 million), according to data centralized by APAPR

Only in 2013, participants to voluntary pension funds transferred into the system contributions amounting RON 150 million, 21% more than in 2012 and also the highest annual level from the system's beginning, in mid-2007. While the number of participants has increased in the past year under industry expectations, the record volume of contributions denotes the beginning of a revival of the voluntary pension system.
