ROMPETROL RAFINARE SA

Designed and built between 1975-1977, using a blend of Romanian and foreign technology (UOP, Mitsui, Snam Progetti, Heat Research, etc.), and modernized in the early 1990s, PETROMIDIA is the most sophisticated of all Romanian refineries and has the technology to process a wide variety of crude oils, from low to medium sulphur content. PETROMIDIA is the only Romanian refinery producing Jet A-1 fuel and plans to become the prime supplier of jet fuel for aviation companies operating in Romania and Moldova. The refinery is an important supplier of gasoline, LPG, and diesel for ROMPETROL's and other retail networks. PETROMIDIA's technical facilities include a petrochemical plant designed to produce ethylene and other related products and the refinery's own port at the Black Sea. The technologically advanced platform is supplemented by the work of well trained, committed, low-cost personnel. The refinery's strategic location on the Black Sea, high conversion ratio, and high nameplate capacity make PETROMIDIA the Romanian "flagship" refinery with a maximum rated capacity of 14,000 tons/day (5 million tons/year or 100,000 b/d).
