You probably remember Honda's first attempt to enter the electric car market, namely the little Honda e. At the time it seemed that the people at Honda wanted to show that they could make an electric car, but they were still not very convinced that this should be the way to go, especially since their gasoline engines were known for reliability, especially in the big US market.
